Oris Bernell Simmons, age 74, died April 11, 1991 in Bountiful, Utah.

He was born February 7, 1917 in Heber City to Joseph William and Edna Irene Blackley Simmons. He married Viola May Shelby June 12, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; she preceded him in death on January 24, 1986. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II. He worked for over 40 years in Retail Clothing sales, including 19 years with J.C. Penney Co., 23 years with ZCMI, Keith O'Brien and Mr. Mac. He served a Genealogy LDS Mission with his wife. He loved his family.He is survived by two daughters and one son, Mrs. Sam (Jeanne) Craven, Kaysville; Mrs. Ronald (Barbara) Van Ry, Woods Cross; Captain David Oris and Marie Simmons, Indianapolis, Indiana; 10 grandchildren, Kelli, Scott, Joe, Lori, Thad, Jason, Lisa, Becky, Rachel and Bill; two great-grandsons, Dallin and Dahlin; two brothers, Floyd Simmons, Salt Lake City, Melvin Simmons, Tucson, Arizona; one sister, Mrs. Delroy (Donna) Sillitoe, Cedar City. Preceded in death by his wife, parents, youngest brother, Doyle.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 16 at 12 noon at the Bountiful 21st Ward Chapel, 650 South 200 East. Friends may call on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and on Tuesday at the Church from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment: Bountiful City Cemetery.
