George Charles Jameson, 96, of Denard, Arkansas, died Tuesday April 9, 1991 in Clinton, Arkansas.
He was born November 11, 1894 in Stratford, England, the third son of John Andrew and Maria Ann Fox Jameson. At the age of 14, he was sent to Canada. During World War I he served with the Canadian 58th Infantry Brigade in France, from 1915-1919. After the war he moved to Ogden and Salt Lake City, Utah. Later, he resided in Detroit, Michigan and St. Petersburg, Florida. He lived with his granddaughter Nobleese Connors in Aurora, Colorado and Denard, Arkansas. He married Mabel Smith in 1919; they later divorced. Later, he married Maggie Bugus, Leonora Metzger, and Alice McGrath, all of whom preceded him in death. George worked for Zions Security Corporation and Ford Motor Company. He joined the LDS Church in Toronto, Canada in January of 1915. At the time of his death, he was a High Priest in the LDS Branch in Mountain View, Arkansas.He is survived by the children of his first marriage, one daughter, Jean Jorgensen, South Jordan; and three sons, Gerald Jameson, Salt Lake City; Hal Jameson, Keokuk, Iowa; Sydney Jameson, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; two step-daughters, Winnie McGrath, Tampa, Flor.; and Dorothy Breitmeyer, Coos Bay, Oregon; 17 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by one grandson, Marcus Whitman Jameson, as well as his parents, brothers, sisters, two step-brothers, and one step-sister.
Funeral Services Monday, April 15, 11 a.m., in the Goff Mortuary Chapel, 8090 So. State, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial, Midvale City Cemetery.
