Shirley P. Porter, 62, died April 10, 1991, at her home in Escalante, of cancer.
Born March 26, 1929, Boulder, Utah, daughter of Preston and Elise Thompson Porter. Married Max Lloyd Porter, August 31, 1945 in Las Vegas, Nevada; marriage solemnized July 5, 1950 in the Manti LDS Temple. Member LDS Church where she was active in the auxiliary organizations. She was employed by Associated Foods in Salt Lake City for 26 years. She loved handiwork and crafts.She is survived by husband, Max, Escalante; three daughters and two sons, Carol Jean and husband, Thayde L. Jones, East Carbon; Maureen and husband, Roger Crump; Bennion; Max Lloyd Jr. and wife, Claudia Porter, Orangeville; Dennis and wife, Ellen Porter, Taylorsville; Laraine Porter DeNiro, Escalante; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; mother, Mrs. Elise Porter, Escalante; one brother and five sisters, Richard P. Porter, Woods Cross; Clea P. Woolsey; Betty P. Alvey, both Escalante; Rosalie Coleman; Ann Barnedt, both Kanab; Kathleen Goulding, Henrieville. Preceded in death by father and brother, Denny Arnold Porter.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 13, 1991, 1 p.m., Escalante 1st LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the ward chapel in Escalante Saturday, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Burial in the Escalante Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield.
