Robert Q. Fortune, husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away April 10, 1991 after an extended illness. Dad brought joy, happiness and laughter to all who spent time with him. He was loved by all.

Born June 29, 1918 in Douglas, Georgia to Willis E. and Katherine Wilcox Fortune. Married Ethel E. Hubner July 28, 1938 in Salt Lake City. He was a salesman for Prudental Insurance; later for US Plywood, and a US Postal Service employee. Veteran of World War II, US Army; was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart and several other medals. A member of the DAV chapter #6 for 32 years, enjoyed gardening, sports and his grandchildren.Survivors, wife; sons, Robert E. and wife, LaNell; Richard W. and wife, Ann; daughter, Colleen Fortune Smith and husband, Reid A.; grandchildren, Kirston, Dana, A. Garrett, R. Paul, Sharen, Thomas and Mary; stepmother, Gencie Fowler; five sisters, Betty Green; Miriam Garner; Genelle Chitty; Frances Luke and Nina May Burch, all of Georgia. Preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister, and a granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 12 noon, at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, where friends may call Friday, 6-8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
