Leroy Alder Archibald, age 71, passed away peacefully April 9, 1991, in a Salt Lake hospital.

Born February 26, 1920, in Dayton, Idaho to LeRoy and Susan J. Alder Archibald. He married Alene Hansen, February 12, 1943; later divorced. He married Ardell Griffeth, May 26, 1949 in the Logan LDS Temple. Served his country in the US Navy during World War II. He was a school teacher in his early years, following which he worked for many years for Utah Job Service. Active member of the LDS Church, he served in many church callings, including a mission in the Northern States (1941-42), a mission with his wife in Rochester, New York (1987-89), a temple mission with his wife in Buenos Aries, Argentina (came home early due to health) and was a temple worker in the Salt Lake Temple for over nine years. Leroy enjoyed music and was enjoyed for his music. He loved his family. We will miss him.Survived by his wife Ardell of Salt Lake City; three sons, Edwin L. (and Myra) Hansen, Salt Lake City; Leron G (and Peggy) Archibald, Sheppard AFB, Texas; Alden G. (and Kathryn) Archibald, also Salt Lake City; six daughters, Rozetta (and Eric) Thorkelson, Anaheim, California; Lynette (and Ronald) Starr and Sandra (and Gale) Thorne, both of West Jordan; Ilona (and Greg) Severson, Sacramento, California; Kayelyn (and Michael) Birch, Salt Lake City; Renita (and James) Baker, Kearns; 23 grandchildren; his mother, Susan, Wellton, Arizona; three sisters, LuDean (and Vance) Campbell, on an LDS Mission, Mexico City, East; Nelda (and Leo) Page, Wellton, Arizona; Yovonne (and Lane) Pendleton, Sunnyvale, California. Preceded in death by a son, Rodney.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 13th, 10 a.m., at the Grant 2nd LDS Ward, 711 East Jepsen Ave (3225 South). Friends may call Friday, 6:30-8 p.m., at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 So. 2300 East, and at the church on Saturday one hour prior to the services. Interment: Dayton Cemetery, Dayton, Idaho, Saturday at 3 p.m. Funeral Directors: The Holbrook Funeral Chapel.
