Frances Chandler Remund, 99, died March 31, 1991 in Pasadena, California.

Born June 16, 1891 in Rocksprings, Texas to James Berry and Beulah Haseltine Chandler. Married Joseph Hyrum Remund, August 18, 1915, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; he died September 29, 1964. She was the eldest in a family of 12 children. The family traveled from Texas to New Mexico in covered wagons, residing in the Capitan Mountains until moving to Colonia Dublam, Mexico in 1906. They were driven out by Pancho Villa in 1912. Graduate of B.Y.U. and taught school in Midway, where she met her husband. Active 4-H Leader and member American Legion Auxillary in Park City. Moved to Salt Lake in 1935 where she was very active in the LDS Church in the Cottonwood, Big Cottonwood Stake areas. She enjoyed working with the youth and participated in her last girls camp at age 81. Active in Special Interest Group. Served on Board of Directors of U of U Mothers group, having served as president, secretary and chairman of Past President Group. She was president of the Womens Council of Real Estate. Moved to Heber in 1976 and to California in 1979.Survived by children: Beaulah Doutre, Pasadena, California; Junius I. Remund, Yuba City, California; Viona Stabenow, Grand Junction, Colorado; 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Alivia Tenney, Denver, Coloraod; Haseltine Brenner, Northern Arizona; Jess Chandler, Blanding.

Memorial services will be held Friday, April 12th at 2 p.m. at Olpin Mortuary, 288 N. Main, Heber City, where friends may meet the family from 1 p.m. until time for services. Interment was previously performed in the Midway Cemetery.
