Minnie Sophie Christenson, age 92, died April 9, 1991, Salt Lake City, Utah.
Daughter of John and Sophie Christenson, was born August 30, 1898, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated as an honor student from West High School. She started her career in business with the Armour Packing Company where she remained until laid off due to the 1930's Depression. Shortly afterward, she was hired by the Ames, Harris and Neville Company and soon became their Office Manager. When this company merged with Boise Cascade, a number of years later, she was given additional responsibilities, and ended her career in 1963 in charge of the Utah division of the company. At the retirement banquet given her at the Hotel Utah, the President of Boise Cascade paid tribute to her, stating "She personified every possible attribute of a perfect and loyal employee." Minnie was a conscientious member of the LDS Church and held numerous positions in the Young Women's and Relief Society organizations. She loved the hymns of the Church and had committed most of them to memory. She was honored on her 91st birthday by the Canyon Road Ward Relief Society. On that occasion she sang several of her favorite hymns with a clear and resonant voice.She is survived by her sister, Mabel; nieces, Sharon White, Shirley White, and Janice Brown, nephews, Dale Christenson, Kent Christenson, and Richard Christenson; and sister-in-law Kathryne C. Christenson. She was preceded in death by her sister, Bernice and brothers, Jack H. and Alvin Christenson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 13, 11 am, Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, where friends may call one half hour prior to services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
