Beverly Chang, East High School student, recently attended the Shell Century Three Leaders conference in Williamsburg, Va.
Just over 100 of America's leading high school students participated in the conference. They debated critical issues facing the United States in its third century. The six main topics were citizen rights and responsibilities, foreign policy, the environment, economics, youth at risk and leadership.The proposed solutions of six committees studying the issues were presented to Secretary of Education Lamar Alexander. Shell Oil Co. sponsors the youth leadership program.
