Lucy Virginia Evans Richardson, age 86, passed away April 6, 1991 in Salt Lake City.
She was born February 20, 1905, daughter of William Ellison and Lucy Ann Oakley Evans. She married Sullivan C. Richardson, August 24, 1926; divorced 1945. Graduate of the University of Utah. In 1970 she retired after teaching 25 years in Garfield and Magna, Utah. She was a physical education teacher for 14 years and her Posture Parades are still remembered by her students. For 11 years she was a remedial reading teacher and many greatful students owe their reading ability to her. She loved young people and felt strongly there was great good in every student. She loved good music and beautiful flowers. She was known for her needlepoint and hand knitted baby booties. Her favorite retirement activity was working in the LDS Church Genealogy Extraction Program. She had been a teacher in the Primary, Mutal, and Relief Society. She was an active member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and member of the Phi Mu Sorority.Survived by one daughter, Mrs. John B. (Lucy Ann) Bywater; son, Dennis W. Richardson; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by two infant children, Virginia Rae and Sullivan C.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 11, 1991, 12 noon, Garden Park Ward, 1150 East Yale Ave., Salt Lake City. Friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery under the direction of Russon Brothers Mortuary.
