Derek Alfred Cuthbert, passed away April 7, 1991, at age 64.

Loving husband of Muriel and devoted father of Janis (Croft), Maureen (Ludlow), Sheila (Young), David, Rosalind (Jamieson), Jonathan, Hazel (Dunsmore), Andrew, Paul, and Jenny. They have 29 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Born in Nottingham, England, October 5, 1926, to Harry and Hilda Cuthbert, he is also survived by his elder brother, Norman.During World War II, he served with the Royal Air Force in India, Burma, and Hong Kong. Afterwards he attended Nottingham University and graduated with Honors in Economics and Law. After joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England in 1951, he held many leadership positions including President of the Leicester England Stake, and later President of the Birmingham England Stake, Regional Representative, and President of the Scotland Edinburgh Mission. He was called to the First Quorum of the Seventy in April, 1978, and has served in Area Presidencies in the Europe/Africa Area, South America North Area, and Areas in the U.S.A. and Canada. He also served in the General Presidency of the Sunday School from August 15, 1988, until he was released on April 6, 1991.

Funeral services will be held at the Holladay North Stake Center, 4395 South Albright Drive (2145 East), Thursday, April 11, 1991, at 2 p.m. There will be no public viewing.
