A wheel broke loose from a truck on I-15 in Kaysville on Monday morning, rolling across the median of the freeway and striking a car in the opposite lanes, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

No one was injured in the accident, which occurred near the Kaysville rest stop, the UHP reported. The incident occurred about 8:30 a.m. and was still under investigation late Monday morning.Troopers said the southbound truck lost one wheel off its dual rear wheels. The wheel rolled across the freeway lanes, across the median, and struck the side of a northbound car, according to initial UHP reports.

The identities of the two drivers involved were not released pending further investigation.
