Owens' daughter, Ila Norman Grill, 71, also of Clifton, Colo., was driving northbound on I-15 when she lost control of the vehicle. Highway patrol troopers speculate she may have been attempting to shift down, causing the vehicle to go out of control.
Owens died in route to Salt Lake City aboard a medical helicopter.

- McQuivey was killed Saturday when another vehicle caught the handlebars of the motorcycle he was driving southbound at 9967 N. Canyon Road (U-146) near Pleasant Grove at 4:52 p.m, according to UHP Sgt. Les Langford.
McQuivey and the motorcycle rolled when a four-wheel-drive vehicle touched the handlebars as was turning from the northbound lane into a drive. McQuivey was thrown 75 feet into a tree.
"It if would have been a fraction of a second difference they would have never touched," Langford said. The driver of the four-wheel-drive vehicle, Delbert Atkinson, 56, will be cited, Langford said.
- Tso died Monday morning just after midnight near the south Brigham City exit. Tso was driving a pickup southbound at a high rate of speed when it drifted into the median shoulder. The driver attempted to correct and the vehicle flipped twice, ejecting Tso, UHP Trooper Richard Wilkins said.
Troopers are investigating whether alcohol was involved in the accident. Tso was not wearing a seat belt, Wilkins said.
