"A Taste of Utah" will be Saturday, April 27, to raise money for the Guadalupe School, which instructs minority and/or disadvantaged children.

Sponsored by the Beehive State Chefs and Cooks Association for the Chef and the Child Foundation of the American Culinary Federation, the event will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel, 215 W. South Temple."A Taste of Utah" features local chefs, cooks, bakers and culinary educators and their cuisine, served "island" buffet style. Each chef, with a proposed member and number of persons to be served, will be auctioned to the highest bidder. Door prizes will be given throughout the evening.

Among the participants are Mel Harwood and Kathy Wood, Salt Lake Country Club; Rogetcq Corello and Max Mercier, La Parisien; Marshall Fujita, Fort Douglas Country Club; Russ Barker, Alta Club; Jeff DeJong, Oakwood Country Club; Gary Godfrey, Airport Hilton Hotel; Sid Robinson, Uncle Sid's Restaurant; Wade Eager, Embassy Suites Hotel; and Dave Wood, Doubletree Hotel.

The suggested donation at the door is $50. Reservations can be made by calling the school, 531-6100.
