More than 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students will receive their diplomas from Brigham Young University during its 116th graduation ceremonies April 25 and 26.

Thomas S. Monson, second counselor in the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will conduct the commencement ceremony Thursday, April 25, at 4:30 p.m.Former BYU president Jeffrey R. Holland, now a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy for the LDS Church, will be the commencement speaker and receive an honorary doctorate. In addition, Victor L. Brown and Charles E. (Chuck) and Harriet R. Peterson will receive presidential citations.

Also speaking will be Maren Clegg of Orem, an English major.

Activities will include a graduation banquet at 7:15 p.m. in the Wilkinson Center Ballroom and a President's reception Friday, April 26, from 9 to 11 a.m.

Convocations will begin at 8 a.m. Friday, April 26, with the Marriott School of Management in the Marriott Center and the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences in the Provo LDS Tabernacle, 50 S. University Ave.

Convocations Friday's 10:30 a.m. convocations include the College of Family, Home and Social Sciences in the Marriott Center; College of Biology and Agriculture in the Wilkinson Ballroom; College of Education in the de Jong Concert Hall; College of Physical Education in the Provo Tabernacle; and College of Nursing in the Joseph Smith Auditorium.

Convocations at 1 p.m. include the College of Engineering in the Marriott Center; College of Humanities in the Wilkinson Ballroom; College of Fine Arts and Communications in the de Jong Concert Hall; and the J. Reuben Clark Law School in the Provo Tabernacle.
