Two Salt Lake men were expected to be charged Friday with 16 felonies for sexually molesting teenage boys, Salt Lake police said.

The charges stem from an investigation that began last month when a 15-year-old boy told police his 47-year-old neighbor had sexually molested him on at least two separate occasions, said Salt Lake Police Sgt. Scott Atkinson.Sex crimes detectives conducted a search of the man's central city apartment and recovered 21 pornographic video tapes, some of them homemade, and a photo album. "In the album were pictures of victims of sexual crimes, 13-, 14- and 15-year-old boys," he said.

Detectives located and interviewed four of the victims, three of whom were runaways. The suspect apparently offered the boys a meal and a place to spend the night. "He found at least one in Liberty Park, and I don't know where he found the others," Atkinson said.

The incidents occurred between November 1990 and March. An additional search warrant was conducted at his apartment Friday to see if detectives could find any evidence that there were other victims.

The suspect's roommate, a 30-year-old man, was arrested Friday morning and is also expected to be charged in connection with the incidents.
