Filmmakers and directors Ingmar Bergman, Peter Brook and Peter Sellars, the Metropolitan Opera and actor Dustin Hoffman are among the artists signed for Expo '92's cultural program.

One of the largest cultural encounters of this century, Expo '92 will present 55,000 forms of entertainment during its six-month run from April 20-Oct. 12, 1992.The Met, in its second European appearance ever, will perform Verdi's "Un Ballo in Mascheria" ("The Masked Ball"). Hoffman and Italian actor Dario Fo and Vittorio Gassman will perform dramatic monologues.

Peter Brook and Peter Sellars will direct a new production of Thomas Breton's "La Verbena de la Paloma" ("Garden of the Dove") and Mozart's "Don Giovanni." Bergman's project has not been announced.
