Ogden and Weber school districts are cooperating on a parent information resource center on the second floor of the Ogden City Mall.

"The Parent Connection" is staffed by volunteers from the Weber County Human Services department, who provide information to help parents deal with the needs of children. The center offers resource information and handouts on a variety of topics including communicating with adolescents, how to identify and deal with a hyperactive child and how to respond to drug and/or alcohol abuse.

Plans are being made to offer brown bag lunch workshops and a lending library, said Sue Westenskow, Weber District community relations specialist.

The program developed through the combined efforts of the school districts, Ogden/Weber Chamber of Commerce, Planned Parenthood, Weber/Morgan Child Abuse Council, Weber County Drug & Alcohol and Your Community Connection of Ogden.
