The Orem City Council will listen to a discussion on the environment Tuesday night.
In its regular meeting at 6 p.m., the council will listen to a presentation by Burnell Cordner, executive secretary of Utah's Bureau of Air Quality, and Kerry Romesburg, chairman of the Utah Valley Clean Air Commission, about the impacts of the Clean Air Act on Orem City.The city has also proposed an experiment to alter six of its vehicles so that they run on natural gas and propane for six months in order to evaluate the potential use of these fuels in the city.
In addition, there will be a proposal on possible improvements along 1600 North from 1050 West to I-15, as well as a discussion on Orem's involvement in the Utah Small Business Revolving Loan fund.
The council will present the Walter C. Orem Award to Erma Jarman Swenson and the Employee of the Quarter award to L. Gerald Nielsen of Orem's Department of Public Safety.
The council meets in the Orem City Council Chambers at 56 N. State St.
