An Ogden man accused of forcing a woman into his apartment at knife-point, raping her and then stabbing her nine times waived a preliminary hearing Wednesday.
Henry A. Lindsey Jr., 32, waived a hearing before 2nd Circuit Judge Phillip Browning. Lindsey is scheduled to be arraigned later on charges of two counts of aggravated sexual abuse and attempted murder in 2nd District Court.The defendant is charged in an incident in which a 23-year-old South Ogden woman was forced into a Washington Boulevard apartment on April 1. After being raped and then stabbed repeatedly, the victim escaped through a window and screamed for help while running nude down Washington Boulevard.
Patrons at a nearby tavern heard her screams and called police. The defendant was taken into custody after police saw a man jump from the roof of the apartment building.
Taken to a local hospital and listed in serious condition after the incident the victim has since been released.
Lindsey is being held in the Weber County Jail in lieu of $60,000 bond.
