A teenage Spanish acrobat fell 30 feet and broke her wrists when she lost her footing on aerial rings during a circus performance.

Esther Luna, 16, of Valencia, Spain, was in fair condition Thursday at Newman Memorial County Hospital recovering from surgery for injuries from the accident, a nursing supervisor said. The mishap occured Tuesday while Luna swung on the Roman rings preparing for a flip, said Rick Clark, an emergency medical technician on duty at the circus.

"When she went to do the flip, her feet came out of the rings," Clark said.
