The Uinta National Forest is proposing to reconstruct and expand the capacity of Granite Flat Campground on the Pleasant Grove Ranger District.
Public notice of the proposal was provided under guidelines of the National Environmental Policy Act.The proposal includes development of six group campsites and 86 single-family campsites, reconstruction of the campground water system, construction of seven toilets, and paving of the campground road and parking spurs. The proposed campground facilities would be designed to use existing roads and campsites as much as possible.
This project was identified in the Forest Land and Resource Management Plan, approved in 1984, and is scheduled for reconstruction after Oct. 1. People wishing more information should contact the District Ranger, Pleasant Grove Ranger District, 390 N. First East, Pleasant Grove, UT 84062.
