The board of directors of the Franklin International Institute has created the Franklin Consulting Group, a company that will offer consulting services in management discipline but with special emphasis on curriculum creation for corporate training.
The group will be a separate entity with the Franklin family of corporations and operating divisions. Robert F. Bennett, who has been chief executive officer of Franklin since 1984, will head the new group. Hyrum W. Smith, Franklin's chairman of the board, will assume the chief executive officer duties.Bennett will remain a member of Franklin's board as well as president of Franklin Trade World, which operates in Japan.
When Bennett joined Franklin in September 1984, it had only four full-time employees. Since then it has has grown to 700 employees in the affiliated companies. "I am very excited about this new opportunity. I am basically an entrepreneur at heart, and building a new company is, for me, more fun than running an established one," Bennett said.
