Longtime civic activist B.T. Price has announced his candidacy for the two-year Salt Lake County commission seat.
Price, a Democrat, will be challenging fellow Democrat Dave Watson, the incumbent.He said he is running because he has an understanding of the problems of workers and seniors. A frequent candidate, he has run unsuccessfully for seats in the Utah House of Representatives and on the Salt Lake City Council and for mayor of Salt Lake City. He is often called the unofficial mayor of west Second South.
Price, 78, was employed by the Western Pacific Railroad for 46 years.
