Salt Lake's Repertory Dance Theatre will travel to the Northwest to perform at Bumbershoot, the Seattle Arts Festival, now in its 18th year.

The company will dance at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 4 during the Labor Day weekend event. Also appearing will be international headliners from Russia, Korea, India, Africa, England and Canada.Bumbershoot is one of the top five national arts festivals, with an average attendance of 250,000 during a four-day period. It is located on the entire 75 acres of the Seattle Center Grounds, original site of the 1962 World's Fair. Its offering is wide-ranging, from all performing arts to literary, culinary, arts and crafts and children's arts on 17 indoor and outdoor stages.

From its repertory, RDT will dance "Suite Benny," "The Envelope" by David Parsons, "New Suit" by Charles Moulton, and Elisa Monte's most celebrated work, "Pigs and Fishes." The company will premiere the latter in Salt Lake City on Nov. 4 and 5 at the Capitol Theater.
