Sidney Lambert Smyth, age 80, died April 5, 1991 at his home in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born May 6, 1910 in Salt Lake City, the son of James Richard and Mamie Cannon Lambert Smyth. Married Freda Stevens, September 29, 1939 in Salt Lake City; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, March 12, 1952. She preceded him in death March 1, 1983. Active member of the LDS church serving as a High Priest and as a temple worker in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He had a lifelong career as the owner and manager of the Smyth Hat Factory, a family business. Enjoyed spending time at his summer home in Holiday Park, Utah. He had a special love for his family, children and grandchildren.Survived by three sons, Steven L. Smyth, James R. Smyth II, Ashby L. Smyth; two daughters, Marjorie Smyth and Marilyn Smyth; 13 grandchildren; one sister, Margaret S. (Mrs.Enoch) Smith; andone brother, James Allen Smyth.
Funeral services Monday, April 8th, 12 noon, in the Ensign 2nd Ward, 9th Avenue and D Street. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Sunday evening 6-8 p.m. and at the Ward Monday, from 10:45-11:45 a.m. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
