Irene N. Baldwin, 92, Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away in Salt Lake City, Utah, April 4, 1991 of causes incident to age.
Born May 12, 1898 in Sumerset, Kentucky to Walter Albert and Emma Jane Webb Nunnelley, both from Kentucky. Married Jay B. Baldwin, July 17, 1922, in Salt Lake City, Utah; he died Feb. 28, 1978. Received her education at Utah State University in nursing and became a Utah State Health Nurse. Her gracious Southern hospitality warmed many hearts and filled many appetites. Music, art, golf and gardening became her pastimes. She holds many golf trophies from the Tooele Municipal Golf Course and the Salt Lake Country Club. Her counsel to family would be, "Do the best you can with what you have."She is survived by her two sons and their spouses, Jay B. Baldwin, Jr. and Donna Baldwin, Robert O. Baldwin and Vicki Baldwin; seven grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Jay B. Baldwin and eight brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held Monday, 12 noon, April 8, 1991, at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 S. Highland Drive, where friends may call Sunday evening from 6-7 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
