Alice Verine Maxwell Evans, age 76, died April 2, 1991 in Salt Lake City after a long illness.
She was born June 26, 1914 in Salt Lake City to Phaloris Homer and Luretta Jane Smith Maxwell. On September 28, 1934 she married Howard Evans in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Howard preceded her in death on September 12, 1978. Alice attended BYU and taught school in Circleville, Utah from 1947-1948. She worked for both State and Federal Governments, retiring from the Federal Government in 1978. During World War II, her husband served as a Chaplain and Alice served as his help mate. During 1948-1952, she served on the LDS Primary General Board.Survivors: son, Clark Evans and his wife, Jill, Provo; daughter, Mrs. Les (Barbra) Evans-Clawson, Sandy; six grandchildren, Vicki, Richard, Mathew, Kara, Michael and Greg; two great grandchildren; two aunts.
Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, April 6, 1991 at 1 p.m. in the Lehi City Cemetery, Lehi. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Midvale, Friday 6:30-7:30 p.m. and again Saturday from 11 A.M. to 12 noon.
