Angel Myers Martino, the only American swimmer to ever be suspended for testing positive for steroids use, captured the women's 50-meter freestyle title as the U.S. Spring Nationals meet drew to a close Sunday.

In her first major meet since returning from a 16-month suspension, the 23-year-old Martino was clocked in 25.88 seconds in the one-lap dash.Janet Evans, a three-time Olympic gold medalist in Seoul in 1988, won her fourth race of the meet, the 1,500 freestyle. Evans was timed in 16:11.22.
