Charles Harland Ahlstrom, age 71, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away April 2, 1991 after suffering a bout with leukemia.

Born October 17, 1919 in Henrieville, Utah to Charles Harold and Elda Meacham Ahlstrom. Married Hester Henderson April 20, 1945; she preceded him in death December 18, 1977. He later married Pearl Holder on September 9, 1982. Charles was an active member of the LDS Church serving in many callings including Bishop of the 22nd Ward, High Councilman (Salt Lake Stake), and worker in the Manti Temple. With his wife, Pearl, he filled a mission in Hawaii at the Hawaii Temple Visitors Center. He fought during World War II and loved working with wood. He often made things for his children, grandchildren and neighbors in his workshop.He leaves behind his wife; five sons and three daughters, one step-son and one step-daughter, Steven and Jean Ahlstrom, Marina, Calif.; Delbert and Barbara Ahlstrom, Ogden; Richard and Kim Ahlstrom, West Valley; Greg and Ruth Molis, Taylorsville; Mark and Dotty Ahlstrom, Dallas, Texas; Reinhard and Alison Fuchs, Heber City; Paul and Pam Ahlstrom, Logan; Vance and LuJean Eldredge, Jerome, Idaho; Rusty and JoAnn Holder, North Salt Lake; David and Vivian Wiltse, Hunter, North Dakota; he was a proud grandfather of 52 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; brother, James K. Ahlstrom, and sister, Lorna Prevost, both of Orem. He is preceded in death by his brother, William Devon Ahlstrom.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 5, 1991 at 11 a.m., in the Salt Lake 22nd Ward, 225 West 500 North. Friends may call Thursday, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., at the Russon Brothers Mortury, 225 South 200 East, and Friday at the church, one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Midvale City Cemetery. Family suggests that donations be given to the Primary Childrens Medical Center, 100 North Medical Dr. SLC, UT 84113
