Reo Sanders, 81, beloved husband, father and grandfather, of Richfield, died April 2, 1991 in a Richfield care center.
Born July 7, 1909 in Salt lake City, Utah to Peter James and Ida Christina Stephenson Sanders. Married Jessie Fowles August 10, 1929 in Sutherland, Utah. Solemnized March 22, 1982 in the St. George LDS Temple. Active member of the Richfield Fire Department for 30 years, having served three terms as fire chief; retiring in 1975. He owned and operated Sanders Auto in Richfield for many years. He was an avid prospector, hunter, fisherman and gardener. He loved camping with his family. He was an Elder in the LDS Church.Survived by his wife, Jessie, Richfield; two sons and three daughters, Duane and wife Gloria Sanders, and Jim Sanders, all of Richfield; Mrs. Bonnie Julander, Logan; Mrs. Tony (Judy) Alhrichs, Rexburg, Idaho; Mrs. Larry (Susan) Paxton, Fillmore; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters, twin brother, Rue Sanders, Salt Lake City; Glade Sanders and Mrs. Lorraine Hayes, both of Nephi; Mrs. Eva Chapman and Wendell Sanders, both Ogden; Mrs. Darlene Jacobsen, Spring Lake. Preceded in death by five brothers and one sister, Evertt, Clement, Helen Madsen, Cleon, Ellis and Clyde.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 5, 11 a.m. in the Richfield 8th LDS Ward Chapel, 200 East Center. Friends may call at the Neal S. Magleby and Sons Mortuary, Thursday evening 7-9 p.m. and again on Friday morning, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial, Richfield City Cemetery.
