A group that wants to expel non-whites from the United States plans to open a Helena office in defiance of city leaders, who Monday told the "League of Pace Amendment Advocates" to stay out.
The group bought a full-page advertisement in Sunday's Helena Independent Record touting its philosophy in "an open letter to the senior officials and people of Helena.""We don't want them here," said City Commissioner Blake Wordal. "They stand for a philosophy that's not part of this community and never will be.
"As far as I'm concerned, anything we can do to discourage them from being here, we should do. I believe very deeply they would be harmful to this community."
George King, who identified himself as spokesman of the group currently based in Glendale, Calif., would not estimate its membership Monday, saying only, "We don't have a precise number. We are small but growing."
