Utah weather highlights

Feb. 28-March 2: Month began with a "Wet Lion" of a storm. Tenneco Mines in Bull Mountain Range in Southwest Utah received 6.28 inches of precipitation, with some flooding. Other precipitation amounts: 4.60 inches, Ben Lomond Peak; 1.55, Veyo, Washington County; 2.80, Snowbird; 2.23, Zion National Park; 1.60, Brigham City.

March 4-5: Another storm with lots of wind but not much precipitation, wind gusts; 108 MPH, Ogden Peak; 88, Park City (Jupiter); 73 mouth of Little Cottonwood Canton; 48, Salt Lake Airport, Holladay.

March 10-11: Another windy affair with gusts to 102 MPH at Hidden Peak, Snowbird; 59, St. George; 45, Provo-BYU. Alta received 15 inches of snow and 1.13 inches of water; Brighton, 10 inches snow and 0.50 inches of water.

March 19-20: Storms continued to pummel Northern and Southwestern Utah, 14 inches of snow at Powder Mountain; 16, Parkwest; 4, Smithfield, Cache County; and 1-3 inches, Brigham City and Ogden.

March 25-27: Another storm system, accompanied by very strong winds, moved into the state, with most of the moisture in the South. Wind gusts included 69 mph in Kearns, 58 at Salt Lake International Airport, Duck Creek logged 28 inches of snow; Brian Head, 14; Monticello, 5.
