Steven D. Kohlert, senior vice president of Intermountain Health Care, has been named chairman of the Salt Lake United Way's 1991 fund-raising campaign.
Kohlert will direct the fall fund drive to raise money for local health and human service programs. Donations are allocated to programs that serve the elderly, youths, people with emotional and physical illnesses, the economically disadvantaged and others.Kohlert succeeds Frederic D. "Fritz" Reed, executive vice president of Utah Power and Light, who led 1990's record-breaking $6 million campaign. Kohlert served as chairman of the public service division during that campaign. His division raised $804,495 from public and private schools, hospitals, churches, agencies and government.
Kohlert, a University of Utah graduate, joined IHC in 1975 as director of planning. He became vice president of planning in 1980 and was appointed senior vice president in 1982. Kohlert is responsible for developing IHC's information systems, marketing, public relations, advertising and legal and personnel functions.
