Officers arrested three people and confiscated more than 2 1/2 kilos of cocaine during drug busts over the weekend.

Two search warrants were served at the same time early Saturday at Mi Ranchito restaurant, 175 W. 200 South, and at a home at 1878 W. North Star Drive (300 North)."It was a huge bust," said Lt. Bill Shelton of the Metro Narcotics Strike Force.

Officers located the cocaine inside the residence. Some of it was found in a strongbox that was placed inside the oven, and the rest of the cocaine was found inside a car parked outside the home. Shelton said a "conservative" estimated value for the drugs was more than $250,000.

The search warrants were the culmination of several weeks of investigation.

Three unidentified men in their late 20s and early 30s were arrested at the restaurant. Shelton also said there was "some indication" the cocaine was being sold at the restaurant.

Metro Narcotics agents discovered another kilo of cocaine while serving a separate search warrant a week ago. "We're making some incredible busts," Shelton said.
