A 15-year-old Kearns girl was raped Thursday evening after being forced into a car at gunpoint.
The teenager was walking in the area of 4200 W. 5400 South about 8 p.m., according to a sheriff's report, when a man in his early 20s asked her if she wanted a ride. She said no but he continued following her in his car. She crossed several streets trying to evade him when he pulled out a small revolver and said, "I think you should get in the car now."The report states the rapist drove the girl around Kearns and West Valley City and then took her to a new subdivision under construction and raped her. After again driving around the area, the man released the victim in front of Granger High.
The girl walked to her home from there and her father called police.
