The marketing arm of Utah's ski industry has a new right hand.

Randy Montgomery, long active in Utah's ski trade, was named executive director of the Utah Ski Association/Ski Utah on Thursday.Montgomery has been involved in Utah's ski trade for more than 20

years. He served as assistant marketing director at Park City, vice president of marketing at Snowbird, and for the past three years has been active in sales and property management in the Park City area.

In making the announcement, Bob Wheaton, president of the board of directors, said the association was pleased to have found someone with "(Montgomery's) experience in marketing and management. It will help the association achieve its objectives of promotion and growth of the Utah ski industry."

The Utah Ski Association/Ski Utah is responsible for the overall marketing of Utah's ski business. Membership, which is currently nearing 300, involves people in all areas of skiing - resort owners, ski shops, airlines, motels and hotels, travel agents, etc.

Montgomery replaces Bob Bailey, who resigned in February to pursue business interests in Southern Utah.

Montgomery is currently serving as director of the Salt Lake Acting Company, the Kimball Art Center and the Park City Chamber/Bureau.
