Salt Lake City's bid for the 1998 Winter Olympic Games gets a seven-page boost in the April edition of Sky Magazine, Delta Air Lines' in flight magazine.
The free-lance article, written by Salt Lake advertising and public relations executive Mike Korologos, is titled "Working On A Dream." It details the city's 25-year effort to bring the Winter Games to Utah - even going so far in the current campaign to send a freezer full of "The Greatest Snow On Earth" to International Olympic Committee member Chief Seiuli Wallwork of Western Samoa. The article has the potential of being seen by 6 million readers - the number of people who fly Delta every month. The Salt Lake bid will also get international exposure on Delta's overseas flights.
The marketing department of the Salt Lake Delta office said it will mail a copy of the magazine to each member of the IOC., which is scheduled to decide in June which of the six contenders for the '98 Games will get the bid.
