Black oil-saturated rain fell on Pakistan's southwestern province of Baluchistan, official television reported.

The greasy downpour Thursday was blamed on the hundreds of oil wells burning out of control in war-devastated Kuwait, Pakistan television said.Pakistan is about 1,500 miles east of Kuwait.

Local environmentalists said Pakistan had expected some fallout from the flaming oil fields, ignited by retreating Iraqi soldiers in February after the monthlong war against U.S.-led allied troops.
