The rock group AC/DC has hired a local attorney to represent it in a suit and any future actions filed in the wake of the Salt Palace concert Jan. 18 in which three teenagers died.
Salt Lake lawyer Mike Mohrman was retained by the band, specifically to defend against a wrongful-death lawsuit filed by Bruce C. Child, father of one of the victims. The band has filed a motion in 3rd District Court to be dismissed from the suit. The motion contends the suit does not clearly describe the allegations.
The $8 million suit filed Feb. 4 names the band, Spectacor Management Group, concert promoter J.C. McNeil, security firm Contemporary Services Corp. and the band's agent and manager.
The lawsuit says that 14-year-old Curtis Child died by "willful, malicious conduct on the part of the defendants."
