David Robinson of San Antonio has won the NBA's monthly award given to the player who makes the greatest all-around contribution to his team.

Robinson, who averaged 25.8 points, 12.2 rebounds and 2.5 blocked shots in March, won the award based on a statistical formula that includes points, shooting percentage, rebounds, assists, steals, blocked shots and team victories among other factors.Robinson, who shot .573 for the month, beat out Utah's John Stockton for the award. Magic Johnson of the Los Angeles Lakers was third; Karl Malone of Utah fourth and Charles Barkley of Philadelphia was sixth.
