A three-day poetry workshop is being offered by the University of Utah College of Fine Arts and Division of Continuing Education outreach program in Moab.

The spring workshop is Friday through Sunday, April 5-7, at Pack Creek Ranch. Registration is open to the public through DCE at 581-6970.Award-winning poet Kathryn Coles will lead the workshop, which covers the writing of poems dealing with landscape.

Students will learn how the use of rhythm, narrative, figures of speech and detail work together to create meaning. Individual help and optional group hikes will be scheduled.

The workshop is Friday, April 5, from 7:30 to 10 p.m.; Saturday, April 6, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, April 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The course is English 395R-45 for undergraduate credit, 595R-45 for graduate credit, and 52R-45 for non-credit. The fee is $248.50 for credit and $140 for non-credit.
