The boat ramp at Hite Marina on Lake Powell has been improved and now any vehicle can launch a boat. Before, because of low water, only trucks and four-by-four vehicles were able to launch boats.

According to Joe Schwenk, marina general manger, a two-boat--wide ramp has been built. The new ramp is about 200 feet south of the old ramp.It was also announced that the buoy lines by the Glen Canyon Dam have been temporarily removed to allow fishing for striped bass near the dam. Big fish traditionally congregate near the dam in the spring.
