A 53-year-old Salt Lake man was seriously injured when his car slammed into a metal tank that was stripped from the back of a semitrailer that struck the 900 North overpass on I-15 Thursday about 9:30 a.m. "I knew in my mind it wasn't going to go," said Phoenix-based truck driver Roger Anderson, who said he maneuvered the truck under the tallest part of the bridge after seeing the structure's low clearance sign. Traffic was closed on southbound freeway lanes and on the overpass while highway crews evaluated the damage to the bridge. Truck permits included instructions to skirt I-15 by taking I-215, but Anderson said he hadn't driven through the Salt Lake area since the north I-215 interchange - which he should have taken - was opened.
