The artistry of Navajo rug weavers will be on display in the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery beginning Thursday.

Titled "Contemporary Navajo Weaving From the Hubbell Trading Post," the exhibit opening in the large gallery will be part of Southern Utah University's annual Native American Week activities. There will be an opening reception at the gallery Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m., and American Indian poet Linda Hogan will give a reading from her works at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited free of charge.The Hubbell Trading Post is located at Ganado, Ariz., about 30 miles west of Window Rock, in the heart of the Navajo Nation. Braithwaite Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and 1-5 p.m. on Saturday.
