Salt Lake police seized more than two pounds of cocaine Wednesday night after a specially trained dog led officers to a hiding place.
Vilo, a 2-year-old German Shepherd, sniffed the drugs behind a headlight in a parked car."(Vilo) pointed on the headlight - based on that and other evidence, we got a search warrant and discovered the cocaine under the hood behind the left headlight," Sgt. Don Campbell said.
The cocaine has a street value of $100,000. It most likely would have been distributed in the Salt Lake area, Campbell said.
Three people were arrested and booked into jail on investigation of possession-with-intent-to-distribute charges.
Officer Marty Kaufmann is Vilo's trainer.
