A celebration of American Indian culture will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 8 in Taylorsville High School, 5225 S. Redwood Road. Granite District Indian Education program leaders have planned the event.

Speakers will be Agnes Dill, former president of the American Indian Women's Association; Lorena Red Elk, Lakota language and culture instructor at Indian College, Fort Peck, Mont.; and John Powless, director of Indian affairs, Utah State University.Outstanding American Indian students will be honored. Demonstrations of textile weaving, moccasin-making, Indian stitchery and sign language will be given.
