The Provo/Orem Chamber of Commerce has announced an action list of top-priority issues developed during the board of directors' retreat.
Chamber President Steve Densley said the top issue is making Utah Valley Community College a four-year school. Other priorities include:- Supporting the UVCC special events center as a vital facility to the community.
- More investigation on Orem's need for a full-time mayor.
- A study on combining Provo and Orem's city services to reduce costs and increase efficiency of operations.
- Encourage an increase in business and education partnerships within the community to bring students into productivity within the business mainstream.
The chamber board members also targeted lobbying for government regulation on emissions-control standards; added publicity for natural gas vehicles; and a study on the traffic flow to aid the clean-air issue.
