A conference designed to increase geographic awareness among students will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 5, in the Weber State University Shepherd Union Building.

Sponsored by the Utah Geographic Alliance, the sessions will feature workshops presented by alliance teaching consultants; an address by Jay Taggart, state superintendent of public instruction; and an elementary teachers' workshop by KUTV weatherman Tim Ross.A one-credit course taught by Wayne Wahlquist will be available for a $20 recording fee. State finals of the Geography Bee for grades four through eight will be held. A luncheon, banquet and refreshments are included in the registration fee. The cost is $40 at the door, $10 for the banquet only and $20 for full-time students.
