Hillcrest High School's forensics competitors recently won first place in the National Qualifying Student Congress Tournament of the National Forensic League held at Alta High School.

Shane Andrews took first place in the Senate and also was named best chairperson. In the National House of Representatives, Jax Pettey also took first place and the best chairperson honors.Other winners from the Hillcrest team were Mark Middlemas, second place in the National House; Lucas Edson, second, and Nathan Chatterton, third, in the Federal House. Nathan also was named top chairperson in the Federal House. Tamara Przybyla was second in the American House and Matthew Hastings was named third place and best chairperson in the same House.

Andrews, Pettey and Middlemas will represent the school in national competition in Chicago.
