The shorthanded Salt Lake Golden Eagles had their team cut even more on Saturday when the parent Calgary Flames called up defenseman Rick Lessard and left wing Paul Kruse.

This leaves the Eagles with just 13 healthy players - 10 defensemen and 3 forwards - as they open a two-game stand with Kansas City. The two join Sergei Priakin, who was called up on Friday. On the injured list for the Eagles are Kevin Grant, Kerry Clark and Mark Osiecki. Grant will be out for at least another week. Clark and Osiecki are on a day-to-day report.
